Australia qualifies for FIFA World Cup

 

Australia have qualified for this year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar, beating Peru  by five goals to four on penalties  .

The Australian football team became the 31st team to qualify for the Qatar World Cup.

Australia played Peru in the play-offs, but neither team was able to score in the allotted time, after which the match was decided on a penalty shootout.

In the penalty shootout, Australia defeated Peru by 5 goals to 4 to secure their place in the Qatar World Cup.

Shortly before the penalty shootout, the Australian coach fielded goalkeeper Red Mine, who blocked the last kick from Peru to give his side the victory.
